Walking it off during Covid-19

While Covid-19 has forced us to stay home, it’s also forced us to find other ways to stay connected. Gina, one of our Resident Services Coordinators, started a “Coffee Connection” virtual group to give parents an outlet during the pandemic. During the chats, the group read a workbook on managing stress loads. Physical activity was listed as a way to de-stress, so they scheduled a walk one week.

“We are walking it off each week to reduce the stress we’re all feeling in the current state of our communities. We hope by connecting (and walking) the group will feel a sense of hope and relief from the daily anxiety we’re all feeling.”–Gina Paoletto.

For the past four Mondays, the group has continued to meet. Now people bring their kids to walk along and enjoy some fresh air.
