Sketching a Better Future
The Power of Affordable Housing
As a child, Gail never saw herself as an artist. Drawing was just a fun activity for self-expression. But everything changed when she got a job at an art gallery. The gallery staff loved her work and encouraged her to bring more. Before long, her art was framed, displayed, and even sold! This was the moment Gail finally recognized herself as a real artist, giving her the confidence to keep creating.
When Gail and her son moved to Eugene, Oregon, they faced significant housing challenges. They stayed in a motel for a few weeks but couldn’t afford it. For a while, they lived in a tent, unsure of what the future held.
Luckily, they found a one-bedroom apartment and later moved to a two-bedroom place at Apple Orchard. Gail appreciates the affordability and cleanliness of her home and values the amenities and friendly neighbors in the community.
Gail says that the affordability, nice community, and good neighbors make her living situation perfect. Thanks to affordable housing, she was able to start a small business and now sells her art at the Saturday market. Having an affordable home gave her the chance to focus on her passion and proved that, with support, anyone can chase their dreams.

The goal? To inspire kindness and emotional expression through creative play. The rocks served as a powerful tool for these kids to explore and express their emotions in a supportive setting. And of course, the special treats were a hit, adding an extra layer of fun to the day!
We are so grateful for the continued support from our community. It’s your enthusiasm and participation that fuel these wonderful activities, helping these kids grow in kindness and creativity. Thank you for being a part of their journey!

Chair Yoga at Legacy Landing Apartments
Chair Yoga: A Gentle Success!
Residents at one of Cornerstone’s managed properties experienced the gentle joys of Chair Yoga, embracing the physical and mental benefits of yoga in a more accessible form. Conducted in chairs, this yoga session allowed participants to enjoy all the traditional benefits of yoga without the need to get down on a mat.
The session was led by a seasoned yoga instructor with a deep understanding that yoga is about teaching people to connect with themselves—focusing on accessibility and personal comfort. No special gear was needed, just the willingness to engage and try something new.
We are incredibly grateful to all the community members and supporters who attended and made this event possible. Thank you for being part of our vibrant community, and stay tuned for more events like this!
